So how is your lockdown going? Most of us thought in the beginning that lockdown without ordering food online will be a good way to lose weight and regain health with simple home made meals; but the reality was viceversa. Most of us gained weight cooking and enjoying comfort food at home. Fact remains that all of us look for a magic when it is about our health. We try to do everything to lose weight but most of the times lack consistency in efforts. I have realized that we can change our lives and kick start a new journey towards good health if we experiment a bit with ourselves. Here are some diet experiments you should try especially after the lockdown gets over.
1. Ban all junk
Ban all junk food for one month. Do not touch soft drinks, refined food or packaged food for one month. You will feel the change in your energy levels.
2. Give up refined sugar
Experiment with giving up refined sugar for one month. Initially it will be really tough for at least one week or ten days. Once you get used to this, believe me you will not crave sugar after a month. I left having sugar in my tea in 2011, believe me now I can’t have my tea with sugar or any sugar substitutes.
3. Give up Fats For A Week
If you are on a Keto or low carb, high fat diet and have stalled, then it is time to go for a ‘No Fat Week’. A little shake in your diet protocol can shake up your body and you might come out of stalled weight loss. I am saying this with experience as this is one experiment that has always given me positive results.
4. Eat Fruits and Veggies Only For A Week
For every single day of a week, experiment with eating only fruits and vegetables. Remember, No rice or Roti for a week and enjoy a wonderful Detox. Try doing it with melons. Water melon diet is the best way to detox and rejuvenate your digestive system. Try it for 2-5 days for results.
5. Intermittent Fasting for a month
Eat your meal within a window of four to six hours only. Drink lots of water rest of the day. This will help you learn to control calories and increase water intake also. You are free to adjust your eating window time according to your work schedule. I keep my eating window open from 12-4 pm. Choose your timing as per your wish. These are the five experiments with yourself which you must try. These will not only help you in controlling cravings and eat controlled calories, but also lose some serious weight. Once you see the results, there are chances that you would decide to make these your new life style.
