Spending extra time at home, I’ve been searching for things to occupy my time that I might not have gotten around to doing before quarantine. I’ve always wanted to focus more on my skincare and really devote time to figuring out what works best for my skin, but with a constantly busy work week and chores around the house, I just never found the time. But staying at home has given me nothing but time, so I figured now would be the perfect opportunity to try some at home face masks! Take a stab at trying some of my favorite face masks all from Allure!

FACE MASKS FOR DRY SKIN

Dry skin is something I think a lot of people suffer with, especially women who are undergoing breast cancer treatment. But whether you are going through breast cancer or just have dry skin on a normal basis, it’s important to hydrate the largest organ of yours, your skin!

Avocado Face Mask

This recipe from Allure is the perfect concoction for dry skin. Avocadoes are rich in omega fatty acids to help seal the cracks between skin cells. And adding in a few extra ingredients like the ones in this recipe will have your skin feeling so soft!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey

Lemon Face Mask

If you have dry skin, you probably have also noticed your skin looking a little tired and maybe even dull. Well when your skin isn’t properly hydrated, your skin can start to lose its normal plumpness. But with this lemon face mask, the ingredients will help exfoliate dead skin cells to restore the healthier skin underneath.

What You’ll Need:

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Cucumber Face Mask

One thing that can often come along with dry skin can be redness and even rough patches. One of the most hydrating ingredients you can use is cucumber. Cucumber helps cool and reduce redness to help your skin look and feel noticeably softer.

What You’ll Need:

  • ½ cucumber, pureed in a food processor
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

FACE MASKS FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN

I’ve suffered with acne prone skin for years, so I was always trying to find the perfect skincare routine to help eliminate unwanted blemishes. If you suffer from acne prone skin, you’ll love these face masks!

Banana Face Mask

According to Allure, bananas are packed with Vitamin A with helps promote skin turnover allowing pores to stay clean and reducing the chances for blemishes.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 mashed banana
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

Squash Face Mask

I know what you might be thinking, squash really? Yes! According to Allure’s website, squash helps boost collagen production…who knew?! Try this face mask once a week for glowing skin!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 butternut squash, pureed in a food processor
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 drops of tea-tree oil
