Dental Lifeline Network would like to thank Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for awarding a $75,000 grant to Dental Lifeline Network • New York. This funding will help vulnerable individuals in the state get critical dental care through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program.
The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation grant will help over 300 people receive $900,000 in comprehensive dental care. Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) appreciates the invaluable support of Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
These funds will support the coordination of services provided with the help of more than 460 dentists and nearly 120 dental laboratories who volunteer for DDS in New York. DDS volunteers donate comprehensive treatment to people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile.
The New York DDS program has provided nearly $3 million in donated services to over 1,890 patients since it began in 2007. Mother Cabrini Health Foundation’s grant is a significant contribution to the cumulative celebration happening for the DDS program nationally. For over 35 years, DLN has partnered with volunteer dentists, laboratories, and strategic corporate partners across the country and connected people with special needs to comprehensive dentistry. This past August, DLN reached a new milestone: $500 Million in donated dental treatment! That’s half a billion dollars of care which has helped 165,000 individuals.
“Thanks to another generous grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, Dental Lifeline Network may continue to build its capacity, and reach more New York residents with special needs and who are in need of life-changing dental treatment,” said Dr. Edward Miller, DMD, Chairman of Dental Lifeline Network • New York. “We are grateful for the Foundation’s continued commitment to providing resources to help provide critical care to those in need.”
“As we look back at the compounding crises of the last few years, the health-related needs of vulnerable communities have only grown. Our grantees have demonstrated tremendous resilience, creativity, and dedication to serving those in need, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have such detrimental impact,” said Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Visa and Chair of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Board.
