A Water Bottle Flower Craft For Your Whole Family
Don’t worry about a thing, because we have your daily craft covered. Our incredible Kids Club team put together this project so that your little ones can bring some of the beauty of outdoors inside (in their own imaginative way). We wanted to share our team’s instructions with you so that you can have a little creative time with your family.
Benefits of Craft Time
Craft time is all fun and games, with a whole lot of learning. We love creative time with kids because it provides an avenue for them to be able to express themselves and show us how they think through processes. At the same time, they will learn critical thinking and how to adapt to a new item they have available. Instead of using paper as a leaf—for instance—your kid may want to use pipe cleaners. Furthermore, by having your kids create something with their very own hands, they will improve their coordination which may even enable them to figure out other skills like buttoning up their own jacket! Craft time never has to stop either. Studies suggest that there are also benefits for adults. So, grab your scissors, tape, and the other items below and join in! Maybe this project will inspire you to create space for arts and crafts in your daily life.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Water bottle
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Paint
- Paint brushes
- Green paper (or color of choice)
- Pom poms (color of your choice)
- Pipe cleaners, straws, popsicle sticks or anything you have on hand to use as a flower stem
Step 1
Cut the water bottle in half. Then, cut out the top and the bottom of the water bottle to create two different flowers.
Step 2
Make about 7 cuts, equally spaced apart, in the top of the water bottle to create the flower petals. (Do not cut all of the way through. You will want the center to be in-tact to hold all of the petals together.)
Now you should have two different flowers!
Step 3
Now, paint the water bottle cap and flower petals. You can either paint the cap while it is connected to the petals or remove it to paint if that is easier on you.
Step 4
Once your flowers are completely dry, use glue, tape, etc. to attach the stem (pipe cleaner) and a pom pom to the flower that you created with the bottom of your bottle.
Step 5
Now, grab your green or colored paper and use your scissors to cut out the flower stem leaves.
Step 6
Use glue, tape, or whatever safe adhesive you have handy to attach the stem and stem leaves to the flower you created with the top of your bottle.
Step 7
You are done! Let flowers dry and enjoy your beautiful creation.
Our Kids Club team cannot wait to see your kiddos again. We hope that this craft brings you joy and brightness in your day. Show us your final product by using the hashtag #ChuzeMovement on Instagram! We cannot wait to see your creations.
