“Round the Reservoirs” is a classic loop from Morgan Hill, very typical of the scenery near many of California’s inland coastal valleys. If you climb up to the foothills West of town, you run into Oak Glen Ave which takes you past Chesbro reservoir. It then runs into Uvas road, and heading south you pass Uvas reservoir. These are part of the Santa Clara County Water district’s efforts to keep our Groundwater recharged. These are all beautiful country roads, lightly trafficked on a Saturday morning. I added in an out-and-back on Redwood retreat road. It was an invigorating workout.
GPS doesn’t show my return from Gilroy to home because I accidentally put my watch in “indoor mode” for that leg.
First part of the ride, up and over Willow Springs road then round the reservoirs, and out and back Redwood retreat road.Last Part of the ride. I accidentally had my watch in “indoor” mode so it didn’t record GPS. I started with a big walk up the foothills West of Gilroy. I need the practice walking up steep slopes. Then I dropped down into the main valley to return home, doing intervals on the wayTurning up Willow Springs roadJust climbed the foothills, view West from the topOn Oak Glen Ave with a peek at Chesbro reservoirOn Uvas Road SouthCorner of Uvas and Croy. We lived up Croy for 24 years. It’s very pretty up there, but remote from town.Uvas reservoirNice little gravel trail across the dam. It’s hard to read the sign, it says the dam was build in 1957.Looking North From the Dam(sorry about the crooked picture, my handlebars must have been leaning)Heading up Redwood Retreat Road
At this moment, I am a doctor and a health blogger. I wrote my first blog post in 2008 about a new symptom I had experienced with my skin. By 2011, I was writing almost weekly about medical topics and had become a contributing writer at fitcoachion.com. It didn't take me long to realize that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In 2014, I started working as a doctor and have written more than 25,000 words in that capacity. In addition to working as a doctor, I have also worked as a public relations specialist and as an English tutor.
